Submit
To submit to Atlantis, you must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student attending a university in the UNC system or Cape Fear Community College. Submit any form of creative writing, photography or art in the form below. There is a limit of 10 submissions total and a limit of 6 pages per prose submission. Again, only the first 10 attachments will be entered in the pool of submissions. We also request that you attach a brief bio, no longer than a paragraph and a picture of yourself upon submission. Thank you in advance for submitting to Atlantis.
Editorial Policy
Atlantis Magazine is published three times a year at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, in mid-November, mid-April and mid-July. Atlantis is a “creative” magazine, publishing journalistic features concerning creative subject matter, as well as art, photography, poetry and prose from students across North Carolina attending any of the 17 UNC schools and Cape Fear Community College.
The submissions for consideration were anonymously coded before being thoroughly reviewed and selected by student staffs in each genre. For each genre—art, photography, poetry and prose—there is an editorial staff comprised of UNCW undergraduate students that volunteer to join the staff and a section editor. After each issue’s deadline, the Submissions Coordinator codes all submissions with a tracking number, keeping a spreadsheet with the contact information of the submitters, as they correspond with the tracking numbers. No one except the Submissions Coordinator has access to these spreadsheets. The Submissions Coordinator does not participate in the review process, and the spreadsheet is not opened until each editorial staff has made final content decisions.
